Community Languages Australia hosted the 17th Annual National Conference on Saturday 1st October 2022 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
We delivered a great program, and the theme was Imagining New Horizons with a focus on The Roadmap Forward in Languages Education.
The conference was officially opened by the Hon Natalie Hutchins MP, Victorian Minister for Education who gave a Minister Address
Our Keynote Speaker Dr Maria Gindidis this year presented on Pushing the Boundaries: Rethinking Traditional Models of Learning and Teaching in Community Languages Schools
The Keynote Address was then followed by a series of concurrent workshops

Finally, the conference ended with a Panel Discussion where Panelists Dr Maria Gindidis (Monash University), Dr Andrea Truckenbrodt (The Victorian Academy for Teaching and
Leadership), Dr Teresa De Fazio OAM, Dr Jing Qi (RMIT), Timea Kovacs (Ethnic Schools Association of Queensland), Alex Di Prinzio (NSW Federation of Community Language Schools), Majida Ali (Assiraj Arabic School Inc.) and Hashara Fernando (Buddhist Meditation Association of Victoria Sinhalese) answered some very important questions about language education and where they see community language schools headed in the future. The Panel Discussion was facilitated by Heba El-Hakim, Project Coordinator for CLV.
