When will the course run?
The course is expected to run from October 2019 till October 2019 with sessions scheduled mainly on a Thursday evening from 5:30-9pm (weekly). There will be approximately three (3) Saturday sessions during this semester.
How much does the course cost?
Current fees are subsided and are $800 for Australian permanent residents/citizens. Full fees apply to people who do not meet this requirement.
Due to the current subsidised rate, further concessions are not applicable.
Materials and resources: $200.00
Who will teach the course?
The course will be managed and delivered by an expert team of educationalists drawing on expertise in a range of specialist areas.
Will there be an assessment?
Assessment of learning will be undertaken through activities such as lesson plans, development of a unit of work, responses to written questions, and presentations. Some of the tasks will require the participant to trial learning and assessment materials in a community languages school setting.
An observation of teaching visit is a key part of the assessment process.
All assessment tasks must be successfully completed to be able to qualify for the Certificate IV in Community Languages Teaching.
Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) available?
Course participants may apply for RPL at the application stage. Applications will be assessed to check their eligibility for RPL. There are no additional fees for students applying for RPL.
Information about the RPL process will be available at the Information Session on 10 October 2019.
