Language |
Research on
language acquisition/use can be divided into first and second
language learning settings. The literature on first language
learning is most relevant to child development while second
language learning pertains primarily to adult learning, although
most general theories of language learning apply to both. While
it is not clear whether different psychological processes are
involved in first and second language learning, there are
differences in the way children and adults learn and this has
important implications.

Languages
curriculum development to support SACSA |
In order to
support teachers in using the SACSA Framework in their planning
and programming, examples for practical use have been developed.
These can be accessed on the
SACSA web site under the button Ideas for Practice. There
are two categories of ideas for practice: Teaching and Assessing
Guides (TAG’s) and Insites.
Teaching and
Assessing Guides demonstrate examples of Units of work based on
the Framework. They contain Key Ideas, Essential Learnings,
Assessment and Activities to be covered in one unit of work.
